Wayne Rooney Sets Appearance Record For England National Soccer Team As An Outfield Player

                    Wayne Rooney has become England’s most-capped outfield player in history . Rooney made his debut for England in a friendly against Australia in 2003, and at the time was the youngest player in the nation’s history to make his bow before Theo Walcott made his first international appearance in 2006. The United forward also holds the record for the most goals scored for England (53) and the most appearances in competitive matches (70). The England captain makes his 116th appearance for England as their World Cup 2018 qualifying campaign begins against Slovakia. Rooney has moved one ahead of David Beckham, who played 115 games for the Three Lions while Peter Shilton, still holds the most appearance record at 125 caps for England. The 30-year-old was given his record start against Slovakia by new manager Sam Allardyce. England won the match 0-1. Thanks to Lalana's late minute goal.

Messi Comes Out Of International Retirement And Scores A Winner For Argentine National Team

Lionel Messi marked his return from international retirement, with the winner as Argentina beat Uruguay 1-0 in a 2018 World Cup qualifier in Mendoza. The Barcelona forward announced he was done with the national team in June, but has since reversed his decision. Coach Edgardo Bauza was making his first appearance of the senior National team of Argentina with Messi hands on to ensure he had a good start scoring in the 56 th minute. Despite having Paulo Dybala sent off on the stroke of half-time, Argentina held on to win the match. The victory moved Argentina to top the group of the qualifying standings ahead of Uruguay, Colombia and Ecuador
