               Several hundred people have attended a Mass at a  US  Catholic church to protest against an eight and a half-foot (2.6-metre)-tall bronze statue of  Satan  that hundreds of people also lined up to see. The Satanic Temple had said it would unveil the statue on Saturday at a Detroit location that only people with tickets would know about. Hundreds lined up on Saturday evening to get the tickets as Christian protesters rallied nearby. The bronze Baphomet statue, featuring a human body, goat’s head and wings, was unveiled just before midnight to cheers of "Hail Satan". Former Chelsea Striker Didier Drogba has signed for Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact. The 37-year-old left Stamford Bridge this summer after playing 381 games and winning four Premier League titles across two spells with the London club. Drogba is the Ivory Coast's all-time top scorer, with 65 goals in 105 international appearances. Montreal president Joey Saputo said the signing made it "one of the biggest days in club history". He added: "It's an honour to welcome Didier Drogba to the Impact. "From the first conversation I had with him, I felt that he really wanted to play in Montreal. "His arrival will be beneficial in every aspect." Drogba will be a designated player at the Canadian side, which means his wages will not be restricted by the MLS salary cap. The camp of the Senior Women National Team, Super Falcons, is in mourning following the death on Thursday morning of the team’s Media Officer, Miss Gracious Akujobi. Doctors confirmed Gracious Akujobi dead on arrival at the General Hospital, Maitama, Abuja at about 7am on Thursday after she suddenly took ill at the team’s Parkview Hotel, Zone 1. She looked very ill and appeared to have struggled hard to open the door to her room, when some persons noticed her. The team doctor and physiotherapist and other officials moved quickly to attend to her and then rushed her to the hospital, but she died on the way.

Rivers State Governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has promised players of the U-23 National Team the sum of $100,000 (about N24 million) if they are able to defeat Congo's U-23 side by three un-replied goals in Sunday's African U-23 Championship final round, first leg qualifier at the Adokiye Amiesieamaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. Raheem Sterling 20 is set to become both the most expensive Englishman and City's record signing, beating Carlos Tevez's £47m fee in 2009. The England winger has been desperate to leave Anfield for months after making it clear he would not sign a new contract. Liverpool had put a £50m valuation on his head and Brendan Rodgers will be delighted to have got extremely close to that mark.  City had two previous bids worth £30m and £40m rejected but the third one has got the job done.
