Wengers Amazing Records! Becomes The Premier League’s Current Longest Serving Manager
When Arsene Wenger was appointed as Arsenal
manager on 1 October 1996 from Japanese club Nagoya Grampus Eight he was an
unknown entity to many, but that is not the case anymore after a
hugely successful tenure in Arsenal FC as the club’s longest serving manager.
The Frenchman learned the trade in the early
stages of his managerial career in France with spells at Strasbourg,
Cannes and Nancy before earning a move to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
He won the French League Championship in 1988
before moving to Japan seven years later for an 18 month stint.
Wenger quickly settled down to new life in
London and guided Arsenal to their first Premier League title in the 1997/98
season.
He repeated the feat once again in the 2001/02
season before making history in 2003/04, as his side went unbeaten throughout
the entire league campaign on the way to sealing a third Premier League crown.
Wenger's side amassed an impressive 90 points after 38 matches.while adding seven FA Cup triumphs
to his collection with the Gunners - the most of any manager - and was voted
Manager of the Year in 1998, 2002 and 2004.
Sir
Alex Ferguson’s retirement at the end of the 2012/13 season gave access to Wenger to become the Premier League’s current longest serving manager.
Arsene looks focused for the job
